Summary

The Match is a dance and football show, created by the choreographer Vero Cendoya.  This is the theater version of the multi-award-winning show, which premiered in September 2015 at the Fira de Teatre de Tàrrega. This new version of the show premiered at the Mercat de les Flors in Barcelona, in February 2018. Five dancers and five footballers. A football field. A referee. Gathered in a peculiar game with its own rules. We will use this dialogue to ask ourselves vital questions as well. We will talk about life through football and dance. We take five dancers to a soccer field and in turn we will expose five soccer players to a theater audience. All this to reflect on questions such as: • What values prevail in our society? • What are the true needs of the human being? • The reality about economic power and intellectual power • Where is the line between sports and entertainment? 
  The street show has been the winner of the MORITZ AWARD FOR THE BEST SHOW AT FIRA DE TÁRREGA 2015. And also winner of the BARCELONA CRITICS AWARD 2015, as the best show in the “Carrer Arts” category. Finalist for the MAX awards for best street show and for best choreography. The company continues in its work of combining contemporary dance with its cultural antagonists. This time it intends to confront the "spectacle" of football  and confront dance with football, which is an opposing type of performance, physically and sociologically. In The Match, the performers and audience will experience coexistence and artistic dialogue between these two styles of performance.
